Last week I came across the post Sneak Peek: Kirsten Marchand on Design Sponge. The name seemed really familiar and as I clicked and read I realized that I knew the woman behind the featured (and fantastic) home. Last year Kirsten contacted me to collaborate on two printing projects and she was kind enough to allow me to share with you.
The first project was the printing of the birth announcements for her twins which were clean, classic and simple. The text was first written out in beautiful calligraphy by Primele which I then screenprinted in white ink on red and navy blue flat cards. White ink on colored cards is one of my favorite ways to screenprint since it offers opaque coverage and really pops on dark colors.
For the holidays Kirsten designed her family’s Christmas card which I then screenprinted in royal blue on slightly textured, 100 lb French Paper in whip cream. I loved the rustic and handmade feel of the design as well as the vivid blue on white color choice.
Kirsten has great taste mixing vintage and new, the elegant and rustic and has started sourcing unique antique and handcrafted items for clients. You can view her design blog at Design Marchand and the tour of her beautifully curated home on Design Sponge.
