Yesterday I participated in my first market of the year. It was also the first time I’ve been a vendor at the Fremont Sunday Market. It was a nice day considering the wet, cold spring we’ve been having and I was happy to have a partly sunny, dry morning to set up!
Mr. Mate and I were in the car by 7:15 and had the booth assignment for the day by 8:30.
We were able to unload and set up in an hour since my booth is currently pretty basic.
The market runs 10 am – 5 pm during the warmer months and while it’s a little early in the season for the huge crowds the summer sees, a steady flow of people showed up to check out the 75 vendors.

I also got to catch up with Christina from Ricicli who I know from the now closed Bouncing Wall. Christina upcycles adult clothing to create fun, original kids clothing.
I also had a great time chatting with new customers and finding out what cards they loved. This week’s big seller was my “I love you Mum” card as Mother’s Day is May 8th! The card that caused the biggest commotion was “I Heart Gilbert Blythe” — Anne of Green Gables fans unite! Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Orange Twist booth and especially to Mr. Mate for all his help and who, due to unforeseen parking restrictions, gamely ended up staying the whole day!
